Last weekend we held another CES workshop, this time it was in Birmingham. Our workshops are a safe, welcoming place for people living with CES to meet up, share their stories, get advice and learn about what the charity can offer. At this workshop, we had presentations from guests speakers including Mr Desai – Consultant in Spinal Injury and Trauma Rehabilitation, Hewa Khalilifar – Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist & Lecturer in CBT, Julie Storrie – Bowel Expert at Clinisupplies and Ben Gent – Interim Head of Clinical Negligence at Slater & Gordon Lawyers. We also had continence companies there to give product demonstrations and answer any questions.
Attendees enjoyed a group meal on Sunday night, an overnight stay and the CES workshop took place on the Monday. The feedback that we received from the attendees was that they really enjoyed the workshop and that they left feeling more positive about their CES journey. Most CES patients brought a plus one, who also benefitted from the workshop by gaining a better understanding of their partner/friend/family member’s CES journey.
Our next CES workshop will be held in Sheffield on Sunday 17th/Monday 18th November. To reserve a place, please email [email protected]
